I've been wanting to dye my hair blonde since years ago. Having a thought of it always makes me satisfied. Dyeing hair also means a step further to look stylish and cool from head to toe. I know it's the matter of personal taste, but I always find someone with light colored hair, or even crazy colored hair, looks way more awesome than other people. 

However, having light hair color needs a lot of efforts. Achieving light colored hair is not an easy job. Moreover we also need to maintain the color. It will need extra extra cares. And it won't be cheap.

Back then, I thought someday I would go to hair salon and get my hair bleached there. But then, I watched many tutorials in youtube about how to get blonde hair, silver hair, white hair, and many more, my confidence grew and I thought I can do it by my self.

I went to Pasar Baru with my sister and purchased these.

So the process began. I mixed the bleaching powder with the developer. There was no precise measure. I just made sure the cream looks like the one I look on youtube.

Let me explain my hair condition first.

I have thin hair. Not only that, but every single hair looks really thin, light, and fragile. But it's actually not, it's light but not fragile. I don't have severe hair loss. I have very smooth hair that people call it 'baby hair'. I'm proud of how smooth my hair is, but it also brings trouble because wind can easily mess my hair. It always looks tangled. However, when people touch my hair, they can be surprised that their fingers can make it through the tip and it feels really smooth. This, what I called baby hair, also affects the dyeing and bleaching process. It can easily absorb any substances without causing too much damage. Glad I have this kind of hair.

Therefore I think it's important to know what kind of hair we have before deciding to bleach it by ourselves. The results vary, though we can try to predict how it will turn out. For example, my sister's hair is in the opposite condition with my hair. She has deep black hair, thick, and a bit dry. The bleach didn't do well on her. The risk of having uneven hair color might be bigger on this type of hair.

If you wonder dafuq with that ugly black roots, yeah it was the longest black roots I've ever had. I had tried to touch it up by dyeing with Freshlight Hair Dye, but nothing happened. Freshlight only gave a slight of reddish brown color but not light enough to cover my black root. You can see clearly there are three layers of color, from light reddish brown, to dark reddish brown, to black. That's why I decided to bleach my hair again.

The process continued. Once the bleaching had evenly spread to all over my hair, I left it for about 45 minutes. My hair became really dry, and tangled, until I felt there was no way to untangle it.

After that, I rinsed my hair, poured so much conditioner, and dried it. This is the result.

A week later, I decided to dye it again with Ash. This time, I chose the foam color because the color will be absorbed fast and can resemble the result chart.

Now how about my hair condition after bleaching it with 40 vol. developer?!

In the first week, it made my hair really dry. It used to be so oily if I hadn't washed it for three days, but this time, on the 4th day not washing it (ewh!), it was still okay. I gave it hair mask and vitamins regularly. Days after, the natural oil has returned. Now I need to wash it every two days. My hair is still smooth and still can be called baby hair. However, the tip can be messier than ever because it's dryer than it used to. 

Whenever you feel down, or super bored by monotonous life, at the same time feel super tired to do those monotonous things, go to salon and get the new hair. Trust me, it works. Mood instantly boosts.

I'd planned to cut my hair short and dye it again, but I thought maybe not now. I still had many things to do, and maybe it would go too pricey. But then, life's going so tough until I think I wanna cut my hair. See the connection?! No?! Neither do I.

Well~ whatever. New look indeed brings some refreshment to life. It's psychologically proven, even though I don't know who said so. So, last Monday, I went to salon with Alin, and spent the longest time ever being there. FIVE hours!! or more.

I got my hair cut and dyed. Totally forgot to take a pic for before and after salon since I was too annoyed seeing my previous hair cut. I went there with my ugly and messy hair, had not washed hair since three days before. The hairdresser cut my hair short bob, just as I wanted. I also wanted to get my hair bleached and dyed. Well, this spent a lot of time. Probably my butt went flat because of too much sitting on that day.

After reached home, I asked Alin to take a pic of my new hair.

The pic was taken with flash, so in real, it's not as bright as that pic, but still looks obvious, especially under the sunlight. And now everyone in the street will stare at me and my red hair.

No one knows what my hair color exactly is. When the hairdresser brought the dye, I was wondering, is she going to change my hair to be carrots, because the color looks like carrots seriously. Previously, I said I want to get rid the yellow tone that my hair got after bleaching. She mixed some colors, and TADAA my hair turned to red. But hey, after rinsing and drying, it came out really nice. I totally like it! So does my Mom. So does my sister.

I actually wanted to make this blog post right after I came home from the salon. But I realized I didn't have eyebrow pencils, powder, or anything else that would be suitable for my new hair. I would not take a selfie with super ridiculous dark eyebrows. When finally my ordered Dolly Wink eyebrow pencil and Etude House brow mascara came safely to my house, I felt so safe to take some selfies.

Hi there! I announce you that I'm back to black! Black hair, I mean.

After more than a year having light brown hair, I've finally decided to dye my hair back to black.

Why?!

Because one day, my...umm...boss(?!)/supervisor(?!)...whoever he is...looked at me for such a long time, and then he approached me and said, "If you wanna go work again, dye your hair black, okay? Because the rule can't allow you to have orange hair."

At first, I thought I don't wanna be back to black haired. Never! Ever! But well, my ORANGE hair was really annoying since I couldn't achieve an even color. Dyed hair is hard to maintain *true story*. However, wait until the time comes, I'm gonna bleach my hair to blonde....at the salon. Hahahahahahaha.

Not hard to achieve black hair, but what happened to me is, again, uneven color. My tip is darker than my root. Sigh!

Kinda weird having black hair again. Everytime I wanna take a pic, I feel like I wanna be an emo. LOL! But glad makeup helps. I assure myself that I still can be kawaii with black hair, like Kurumi Nakada and Saki Sato from Harajuku Kawaii TV. Hahahahahahaha.

Black hair also means more chances to wear any color of lipstick. Yeah, with ORANGE hair, I usually stick to soft pink or soft orange lip color, because the hair itself already becomes a center of attention. Though I know these days 'crazy' makeup becomes a trend; crazy colorful hair, with bright lips, and bright blusher.

Anyway, black hair makes nude lip color looks cool. It seems so pale, but still cool, right?! It emphasizes dark and white: the hair color and the skin color. 

Or, wear red lipstick!

I've finally dyed my hair again after four months not dye it. Ahh~ imagine those four-month-old black roots. Cannot? Here's the pic.

From this angle, all I can see is black hair, while actually my hair color is light brown, with yellow-orange tone.

I usually prefer the usual cream hair dye not the foam dye, because I've ever tried Liese Prettia Foam Dye. It turned out good, evenly dyed my hair, but it faded after weeks. This time, yeah I just wanna experiment with this Fresh Light hair foam dye, so maybe I can compare with the Liese one.

Weeks ago, at the end of May, I went to Guardian to buy shampoo, facial wash, and other stuffs. I checked on the hair dye shelves, and saw they held discount sale for Fresh Light products, only IDR 69,999, and for the foam dye, only IDR 79,999. But that day, I felt I already bought much, and I didn't feel like I gotta dye my hair soon because I need to be interviewed for a job-You must know, interviewers don't like bright color hair. But I also don't know why I have such a silly thought like that because my hair is light brown. Light brown is light brown, though the roots are black-. So less then a week later, I went back to Guardian to buy hair dye. Guess what?! The discount was over. It was already June. The promo was valid only until May. Damn!

No choice. I brought one of those hair dyes to the cashier with a heavy heart. IDR 30,000 price difference was really significant. I could have two KFC Attack's meals with that money.

Lesson: Always grab all the discounted goods with no doubt!

Here's the Fresh Light Foam Color in Lemon Blond.

As always, I choose the lightest color I've seen.

The chart shows darker color than the color of Blythe's hair showed on the box. Blythe is the name of the doll, by the way. She's the model for Fresh Light hair dye.

Inside the box, there are:

1. Hair Color (numbered 1)

2. Developer (numbered 2)

3. Pump

4. Conditioner or After Color Treatment

5. Gloves

6. and, the Instruction Sheet

What's good from foam hair dye is the easy application.

1. Pour in the hair color (1) to developer (2). Mix it by shaking the bottle left and right. Do not shake it roughly to any directions. It will make the foam appear inside the bottle.

2. Set the pump and squeeze it to get the foam.

3. By wearing gloves, apply the foam dye to hair just like shampooing.

4. Wait 20-30 minutes (but I always leave it for an hour)

5. Rinse the hair and don't forget to apply conditioner.

Although it can be used  as easy as shampooing, I still think dividing hair into parts can help to make the color turns out even. And what I always do besides parting the hair is dyeing my roots first, then, I leave it for 10 minutes, after that, I continue to dye the rest of my hair.

The result is quite good. It covered my black root, though I think my black roots has grown to be stubborn one. I was satisfied with the result.....at first. But then, I feel disappointed because it fades so quickly. I postponed taking the result pic. Maybe after several days, I finally took the pic. Then I realized the color has faded a bit. 

As you can see, my roots stubbornly stay in the darkness side. Well, I think I should dye it again, next month maybe to make the hair color looks even.

Overall, I conclude that most the foam hair dye fades so quickly-but I think Liese Prettia is better than this-. However, the benefits of the foam dye is one box is more than enough to cover all of my hair, while one box of the usual cream hair dye do it pas-pasan. I even think one box is made for two people with medium-length-hair.

Last month, I wrote about Fresh Light hair dye in Sweet Apricot. Actually, I dyed my hair on December. I re-dyed my hair on the beginning of February. So it was about two month interval to the next hair-dyeing. The black root already had enough time to show up.

In my February Haul post, I already put the pic of the new repurchased Fresh Light, in Clear Ash. I always wanted ash hair, because it looks so gorgeous. However, I still want my hair go brighter. But when I went to Guardian after attending Beauty Couture event, I bought this Fresh Light. I was determined to go ashy this time.

But, how's the result?

This is the box. The Blythe doll has the darker ash hair than my brown hair used to be.

The explanation on the back clearly says that my hair would be darker, rite? I consider my hair would be like the second table, from brown to that ash.

Dahell! Why my hair didn't go ash?!

As the pic has shown, my hair still has kinda reddish brown color. In real, it looks more yellowish than reddish. If there's a change, it happens on my root. The black root is successfully covered.

What did I do wrong?

I expected a darker color. I also think, ash has some green tone, not yellow or red. Whoooahh it's really out of expectation. Why Clear Ash color has the same result as another color I've tried?

I'm dissapointed...yeah.. And I try to cheer my self up, by taking pic of my hair under the sunlight. I don't know, it looks yellowish ash there (dahell is 'yellowish ash'?!!). But actually, no difference at all. No one realizes I have dyed my hair ash.

Maybe, this failure happened because my hair was not bright enough before. I should have very bright brown color before dyeing my hair ash. But I already expected much. Sigh!

It's February, it's a new month. I think there will be such a pleasure to do haul. I know it's still 4th on February, but to change the title to January Haul is not right cause I purchased all of things below after January 31st had passed. So here it is, let's call it February Haul.

Not much. Need to save money. Hahahaha.

First thing is my two-monthly-necessary thing. It is hair dye. Still stick to Fresh Light cause it's easy to get at Guardian and other local drugstore. Also, now Guardian sell it cheaper, IDR 80,000 each, instead of IDR 99,000.

Oh..., and I try Clear Ash color, wanna go darker this time.

Next is concealer. I choose Skinfood Rice Concealer Pen No. 1 Light. Cheap cheap, only IDR 70,000.

Then, a mask from Beauty Diary, Bulgarian Rose. IDR 18,000 for one sheet.

I also wanna try Mediheal Clinic Sulfur Blackhead Suction Nose Patch to pull out this super annoying blackhead on my nose. Got it for IDR 15,000 each patch.

Last, my first makeup product from Holika Holika. I always want a red blusher, so here it is, Holika Holika Love Fantasy Cheek Blusher in Red. Like any other Korean products, they always have such a cute packaging. I got this for IDR 145,000.

Okay! That's my February Haul. Gonna make a review about them. Actually, I have dyed my hair with that Fresh Light and a bit disappointed. It's on the next post!
