Punk and Grunge looks have grabbed my attention recently. I think the trend started this fall, especially when the famous cosmetics brand 'Lime Crime' released their grunge eyeshadow palette called 'Venus'. The hype increased. I didn't buy it but with the demo they showed, I was very much tempted to try this kind of look. I'm totally in love with Doe Deere and all this grunge makeup.

But this time, I started with punk look first.

What's the difference? Punk look and grunge look?

Well, based on my research in which I'm not really sure, so please correct me if I'm wrong, punk and grunge both hold the same characteristics with bold eyes and lips (but sometimes grunge isn't about lips). However, punk kinda stands to a crazier look, while grunge looks softer and more wearable. Punk can play with bright color, such as red, blue, rather than black or brown only, while grunge focuses on creating intense look, especially on eyes. So basically punk gives wider variety. Well, I guess because it's punk in which rule doesn't apply.

I think this look I've created is more like dark punk makeup.

Let's move on to the tutorial. It's quite easy. I used red eyeshadow as the base, added by orange eyeshadow. For intense effect, I used brown and black eyeshadow, also black eyeliner and dramatic eyelashes to make eyes look sharp.

For lips, because I don't have reddish brown lip color, I mixed two types of lipstick with brown eyeshadow. I don't know if it's you, but I'm in love with this color. It makes me wanting to buy this kind of shade. 

I plan to create grunge look too but still try to learn more about dark makeup. Hmm..I can't deny that I'm going 'darker' recently.

It's Summer Time! Though almost every day is summer here, I cannot ignore the happiness when the northern part of the world celebrate their long-lasting sunshine. Thing that I like most from celebrating summer is the summer collection from so many clothing shops in every mall. It never fails to make me enjoying window shopping more than usual. I like bright colors!

Before I continue writing, I'd like to say thanks to my sister because she was willing to help me taking pictures in hurry before the ice cream melted. Well, no wonder it's summer.

Here's the detail of my eyemake:

'How to draw eyebrows?' becomes the most essential yet difficult task in my everyday makeup routine. I was born with uneven eyebrows. Well, not only uneven, but extremely uneven, so if I draw eyebrows following the line of my natural eyebrows, my face will look super ridiculous. Fortunately, I also was born with thin eyebrows, thus the difference won't look so obvious. With those thin eyebrows, it's easier to manipulate the shape of my eyebrows.

Okay, this is the picture of my natural eyebrows.

My left eyebrow is kinda straight with the correct curve at the correct place, meanwhile my right eyebrow decides to make the curve too early, very near from glabella. I think everyone would agree with me that my right eyebrow is a big problem. 

Now talking about my favorite eyebrows shape, I like them to be not too thick, but not too thin, and not too curvy, but not too straight. Hahaha sounds too absurd. But precisely, arched eyebrows are my least favorite, because in my opinion, it will make my face looks so old. Straight and too thick Korean eyebrows is also not my preference. I like straight eyebrows, but not too thick maybe. But somehow I feel jealous looking at Korean girls that looks so pretty with super thick eyebrows.

For the color, I really like blonde eyebrows. I think eyebrows color MUST BE lighter than hair color. And I even won't protest if someone colors her eyebrows way too light. That's still cool! That's why I always try to make my eyebrows as light as I can. I bleach my eyebrows routinely. See my post about bleaching eyebrows here. Besides that, it's also important for me to trim my brows regularly. 

I then realized, that all of these treatment makes me feel naked if I go out without drawing my eyebrows. Bleaching and trimming make me almost brow-less. So, I can't imagine I live without these:

O-kay, next, this is how I draw my eyebrows so unprofessionally by using Dollywink eyebrow pencil in Honey Brown.

Basic knowledge of drawing eyebrows is to know where to begin (purple), where the curve starts (pink), and where to end it (green). 

Then, I connect the first two dots with a single line.

Now, connect with the last dot.

And fill them in.

Now one side is done!

Hahaa, the difference looks so obvious.

After I have drawn both of my eyebrows. I will use Etude House Color My Brows #2 Light Brown. 

The result:

Still uneven. Hahahahaha. As I said before, eyebrows will always be the biggest task in doing my makeup.

Okay, I think my left eyebrow is better. So I will take another selfie from this angle.

November, the 'shortest' month of the year, will come to an end. Is it me only, but I always feel November goes so fast. In a blink of an eye, here comes the 20th of November. It scares me, but at the same time I become excited. Because it means long holiday is nearby!!

Talking about this holiday, every thing should be in Christmas color. Who doesn't dream of White Christmas?! Even though I'm not a Christian, I'm the one who admires White Christmas. Winter, snow, plus Christmas seems so magical for me. Here, I stole a pic from google that I think describe how delightful the White Christmas.

People say Winter sucks. Can't bear the coldness. However, I still hope that God will allow me someday to experience the White Christmas. I'm just in love with the color of silver, white, and red combined. Therefore, I made an FOTD, inspired by this Christmas color.

This makeup is simple. As long as it looks kinda pale but still sparkling, it's enough. For lips, I wear my Lancôme Gloss in Love. I usually don't wear lipgloss, because I think it's too glossy for a matte lover like me. But, for this look, bright matte color will look too much, while nude color will look so pale. Then, I try to wear this lipgloss to avoid the dullness. The gloss is kinda similar with the sparkling theme I wear on my eye-make. Well, the result turns out good. I love the color of my lips.

The packaging is very luxurious, sweet, and cute. There's a small button to be clicked to open the lid. The applicator was made curved to be accustomed to our lip shape. See how much effort for designing this product.

This lipgloss has lovely color. It comes out natural, sweet, and shiny. It's a really perfect match to complete our holiday look. 

Lancôme Gloss in Love, I'm in love! Happy holiday!

I actually wanna call this 'My Everyday Lip-make' but I realized I don't wear this everyday, I wear it often, but not everyday. Ain't nobody got time for that. Moreover, I wanna make the title more specific, so let's call it 'Gradient Lips', the famous term to describe this kind of lip makeup. This lip-make is really popular in Korea. Like any other makeup that comes from Korea, it creates a dolly and innocent look.

It is pretty simple. We only need these products to create gradient lips:

(From left to right)

1. Lip Balm 

I'm using Eos Lip Balm in Lemon Drop. Lip balm is really important because it prevents dryness. The lip tint, lip concealer, and lipstick (though the lipstick I used already moisture lips) can make your lips very dry and chapped. So, always use lip balm!

2. Lip Concealer 

It is actually nude lipstick, that has the same color as your skin. The one that I use here is Etude House Color Me Nude.

3. Lip Tint

I placed it wrong. Use lipstick first, and then lip tint. This lip tint absorbs to our lips and creates natural color on it. But beware, this kind of product can make lips dry faster. My favorite lip tint is the Color Pop #2 Sunny Pop from Etude House.

4. Lipstick

Yaaa, we all know lipstick. I use Maybelline Extreme Moisture Lipstick R41 Wine. 

As you can see, I choose bright lip colors. Those lip colors won't be used to all over our lips, just a tiny part of it, so don't worry it will appear soft.

Then, let's do this!

Step 1: Use lip balm

Step 2: Apply Lip Concealer and smooth it over. It will blur the outer lip-line.

Step 3: Apply lipstick on the inner part of lips, and smooth the lips. It gives a hint of pink.

Step 4: Make dots on the inner part of lips using lip tint. Pat the lips to make the color even.

Done!

You may add lip gloss for glossy lips, it also will diminish the appearance of lip cracks.

Take a closer look around her eyes. There are something that looks like eye bags below her eyes, right?! It is actually not eye bag. It has its own name called aegyo sal. Because eye bag will make eyes look tired, but this aegyo sal makes puffy eyes than look super cute, especially when smiling. It creates a sweet, young, and innocent look. No surprise if this aegyo sal becomes a trend in Asia, or worldwide maybe.

Look this beautiful blogger from Singapore, Miyake. She successfully creates aegyo sal. I also learned to make aegyo sal from her.

And even Kyary Pamyu Pamyu has aegyo sal too!!!

They are all so cute, right?!

Nowadays, people get obsessed to get this cute aegyo sal. They, who don't have natural aegyo sal, make efforts, whether with makeup, filler, and even plastic surgery, to create this eye bags aegyo sal. I think because it's kinda impossible to naturally make aegyo sal. Lessen your sleep time won't create aegyo sal. Dark circles will appear instead. And dark circles are ugly!

I remember when aegyo sal still has not been famous as these days, I kept find some comments to Korean stars, who already have aegyo sal, that told them to sleep more. But now look! They look cute with that. Well, but actually I don't think aegyo sal is caused by lack of sleep. Because unhealthy eye bags have darker color than skin color. Aegyo sal has the same color, so it is just like cute fat below eyes.

As I said before, we can fake aegyo sal using makeup. Therefore, Etude House created this:

Dear Girls Cute Eyes Maker; just a simple 2-step-product to make cute eyes, or aegyo sal.

But...what if you don't have that, but still want to create aegyo sal?! You only need these:

an angled brush

brown eyeshadow

shimmer eyeshadow

In fact, I don't have aegyo sal, just ugly dark circles :( . This is my 'without aegyo sal' pic, which is my 'real' look. Even when I widely smile, the aegyo sal won't appear. Sad or not?!

So this is my attempt to fake aegyo sal below my eyes:

First step,

Figure it out where the aegyo sal will appear. Smile or squint or do whatever you can to make the fat below the eyes appears. And I squint so hard.

Step two:

Draw a line with your angled brush and brown eyeshadow at the line where the eye pouch starts appearing.

Last step:

Apply shimmer eyeshadow for the area between the line you've drawn and the lower eyelid. Or, you may apply tear drop liner here.

Done!! I get my cute aegyo sal.
