I'm back from hiatus. Haha! Blogging about beauty is the thing I'll miss, always. I stopped blogging earlier this year because I need to finish my study, which I haven't finished yet (I will finish it, I will). Also, these past months, I was struggling to find wifi. I moved to Jatinangor from January-April, and I only relied on my campus wifi to get internet connection. My mobile phone network sucks. And now I'm back home, I get a trouble with the internet provider company who never give their customers good services. Because of that, I stopped using the internet from that company. So now, I try to survive with mobile wifi that give bonus quotas at night. I'm forced to be a nocturnal again. What a life.

Now let's talk about this look.

Candy Fairy. Colorful, shimmering, and sweet. I tried to create a look that would reminds me of candies.I should thank to Pinterest because I can find many inspirations from that apps. Inspiration for makeup, just like how I found this kind of look.

I used blue and pink for this look. Adding too much color didn't work because the main point of this look is how to create the sweetness. So I played with the gradation of blue and pink. I also added red for the blush. White eyeliner helped much in intensifying the color. For lips, I chose sweet and soft gradient using pink lipstick and a bit of orange tint.

Is it sweet?

This post is really really late since HelloFest was held on November 22-23, 2014. It's January already but I can't help myself to not post this. Can't waste such good pictures, right?

I went there with Alin and Nurul.

So, at there, I finally found something that I had been wanting since long time. These past months, I've grown an interest into collecting chibi figures called Nendoroid. I only had Nendoroid Levi back then, in November, and I've been searching for Nendoroid Aoba & Ren since I was into their series, Dramatical Murder, so much.

I went to HelloFest without having a thought I would spot that chibi figure there. And then....there it was. A booth there displayed that Nendoroid. I remember my first reaction was screaming in front of Alin's face. Previously, I was really frustrated because I couldn't find this Nendoroid anywhere. I've asked several toy shops but they always had no stock.

Glad I found Nendoroid Aoba & Ren at HelloFest. Happy! Happy! Happy!

Okay, now let's talk about the event itself. Many cosplayers gathered there. Below are the pictures. Enjoy and name the character if you know them, because I, to be honest, don't know 50% of them. Hahaa. Despite my not knowing who they are, I still love them, because they've shown a great performance as we can see what an effort they put into creating costumes and stuff to mimic the character they adore. Cool!

Night before I went to HelloFest, I read the new chapter of Tokyo Ghoul:re (or was that only the spoiler?!, I forget). Well, as usual, it affected me emotionally. Then I bluffed to Nurul that if I spotted Kaneki there, I would hug him (LOL!). However, I was too shy when meeting Kaneki, so I was just taking picture with him. (LOL! again)

By the way, there were many Kanekis at HelloFest, from KuroNeki to ShiroNeki.

Second day of 2015, it's raining hard outside. I'm staying at home so why not uploading pics and starting to write this blogpost.

I was celebrating New Year with my family these last two days. I was really aware that celebration seems undeserved due to tragic accident that recently happened, the crash of Air Asia QZ8501. Deep condolences to the victims and family. Hearing that sad news really affected me, like I cannot imagine how gloomy the family would be in this supposed-to-be-happy moment. To be honest, a slight of guilt crashed me when I saw people, yaa you can also include me, cheered to the first seconds of 2015.

At some time I also thought, I just wanted to watch fireworks peacefully. Such an irony, though. Thinking that watching fireworks is somehow peaceful is ironic, considering the loud blasting sound and smoke. But that's what I think. I'm always feeling hurt hearing people cynically say that fireworks is such a waste of money, because they think it merely means burning money to the sky. I enjoy fireworks to the extent that I will find it calming. I can't imagine New Year without fireworks.

So, on New Year's eve, my family and I went out for food. Eating at Hong Tang Pantai Indah Kapuk while waiting for the clock to reach 12.

We had dinner at Bandar Djakarta that night. And this 'Udang bumbu telur asin' was the winner of that day.

Punk and Grunge looks have grabbed my attention recently. I think the trend started this fall, especially when the famous cosmetics brand 'Lime Crime' released their grunge eyeshadow palette called 'Venus'. The hype increased. I didn't buy it but with the demo they showed, I was very much tempted to try this kind of look. I'm totally in love with Doe Deere and all this grunge makeup.

But this time, I started with punk look first.

What's the difference? Punk look and grunge look?

Well, based on my research in which I'm not really sure, so please correct me if I'm wrong, punk and grunge both hold the same characteristics with bold eyes and lips (but sometimes grunge isn't about lips). However, punk kinda stands to a crazier look, while grunge looks softer and more wearable. Punk can play with bright color, such as red, blue, rather than black or brown only, while grunge focuses on creating intense look, especially on eyes. So basically punk gives wider variety. Well, I guess because it's punk in which rule doesn't apply.

I think this look I've created is more like dark punk makeup.

Let's move on to the tutorial. It's quite easy. I used red eyeshadow as the base, added by orange eyeshadow. For intense effect, I used brown and black eyeshadow, also black eyeliner and dramatic eyelashes to make eyes look sharp.

For lips, because I don't have reddish brown lip color, I mixed two types of lipstick with brown eyeshadow. I don't know if it's you, but I'm in love with this color. It makes me wanting to buy this kind of shade. 

I plan to create grunge look too but still try to learn more about dark makeup. Hmm..I can't deny that I'm going 'darker' recently.

On November 15, I planned a meetup with my friend, Nurul, and I just randomly asked her to come to Central Park. She previously asked me is there any events on that day, and coincidentally, I saw some bloggers posted about a 'Picnic Over Tribeca' that would be held at Central Park. So we came there.

I'm not a food lover, but attending this kind of event once in a while will never goes wrong, I guess. This post wouldn't be a proper event report, just a pictures post, I think.

Tribeca Park was pretty crowded at that time. Food stalls were lined up there, and they were really tempting since I had such a hard time deciding which one should I buy. Also, I was hungry.

Finally, I decided to try the corn dogs, because I think the portion might suffice as my lunch. The food sold were mostly snacks and beverages that would nice to be eaten and drunk while having a picnic at the park. Bought some ice cream too, but forgot to take a pic of them.
